better zooming/navigating in adobe animate CC? or how to make an extension?

The zoom stage tools for adobe animate are a little hard to use. For example, when in fullscreen mode the custom drop down menu disappears. I use + and - but those only zoom in increments - a scrubby zoom would be more precise. I figured the only way to make this happen is to build an extension myself - how would I go about building an extension/action/add-on for adobe animate to make zooming easier? Is this possible? I really don't know much about coding/developing add-ons. I've searched for an extension that does this but haven't found anything close to it. Or maybe there is a way to make an action that zooms in 10% or 20% increments?

As ClayUUID says, mouse wheel zooming works well, though it could do a lot smaller steps, as could panning. When you're full screen you can still get at the center stage and zoom levels too.

have you tried the zoom tool to draw a rectangle that you want to zoom to fill the visible region?

i rarely use any zooming other than that because it works so well for so many situations.

I almost always just use Ctrl+mouse wheel for zooming.

There are plenty of ways to zoom in Animate, it's just a shame that they are so different from Illustrator, Photoshop etc. I'm so used to scrub-zoom now that whenever I use the zoom shortcut quickly on Animate (hold ctrl and space, hold left click and scrub / draw box) I end up zoomed in on a random small square of the stage when trying to scrub . (Came here as a result of doing it about 15 times in 10 minutes trying to start a flash project after spending hours on Illustrator!) I think Photoshop only changed relatively recently from the zoom box selection if I remember rightly, so maybe Animate will too in an update. My pen doesn't have a mousewheel function just middle click, which doesn't really help and I like to work fast and not have to drop pen and use mouse etc. Just have to get used to it each time. Like I said, it would be nice if there was more cohesion with other Adobe software.

I use Ctrl+Spacebar for quick access to the zoom tool, then just draw a region to zoom in.

This gives excellent control over where the focus should be and how much to zoom in one step.

To zoom out incrementally I have assigned an easily accessible shortcut Ctrl+A and I have kept Ctrl+1 for 100% zoom.

For my use this has proven over many years to provide the best ergonomics in Flanimate.

there are so many problems issues with these forums, and adobe in general, and other software, and the world... oh well, getting serious about anyone that can laugh at themselves makes no sense to me.

(so, i don't know if it makes you feel any better, but i felt better after reading your last post.)
