changing .mov file codec- is it possible?

I need to export my mov file in png codec so it can be used in Camtasia 9- does anyone know how I can accomplish that?

I have been using QuickTime since before it was given the name QuickTime (like, for 29 years), and had never heard of a PNG video codec. I looked into it and it seems it's possible to use the still image PNG compression as a video codec if you enable it in Terminal. Here's a long discussion about it:

Look for this line:

qtdefaults write LegacyVideoCodecs ApplePNG enabled

If you go into Adobe Media Encoder and use the Preset menu to Create Encoding Preset, you will see a list of codecs you can use. If PNG isn't in the list, then you may need to enable it with the Terminal command.

It seems odd though, that Camtasia 9 can't handle Animation codec, which is already 32, and does transparency. Some people (as you will read) argue that Animation is too demanding, but it's still odd that Camtasia goes out of its way to not support it.

BTW, I did try disabling the codec, and it still appeared in the Adobe Media Encoder list, maybe I needed to restart. If it ends up being that it only works for exporting an image sequence, read discussion like this one about converting an image sequence to an MOV:
