My hosting company has sent me a message to instruct me to change from an FTP connection to FTPS.
This doesn't seem to be an option with Dreamweaver. Is FTPS the same as SFTP?
This is what they said;
In order to provide you with even more security, we are migrating your Windows package to a Windows Server 2016 environment. Additional benefits of this migration include 1&1 DDoS protection, which protects your website against hackers and DDoS attacks.
Switching to FTPS
Important for you: Only encrypted FTPS access will be possible with the 1&1 DDOS Protection. For this reason, please start using FTPS to access your webspace in the future.
Are there any ramifications in changing that I should know about?
Many thanks for any help you can give.
1 Correct answer
FTPS is not same as SFTP. FTPS is FTP over SSL and that option is available in DW.
You can try FTP Over SSL/TLS for secure FTP and below is snapshot for your reference.
