I have an old PC that won't support Flash Player 10. I've downloaded the Flash Player 9 zip file from the following link on Adobe.com and have unzipped the file. Now, how do I get the Flash Player to "run" so that I can view streaming videos?

Hi, Did you refer to this troubleshooting article from Adobe here:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_19166_en-us
In Section 5 of the article, you may want to refer to that-"Error installing older versions"
That may be helpful.
Thanks,

Thanks, eidnolb, I looked there, but that didn't help. Do I need to "run" or "save" when I download Flash Player 9? Either way, I just get a zip file named fp9_archive1.zip. When I unzip that file, I get 16 subdirectories named 9r16, 9r20, etc., but no instructions on how to get Flash Player 9 to "install" so that I can view vids. I'm kinda a newbie on this, but I guess my question is "How do I install Flash Player 9 after I download it from the Adobe archive"?

Hi, oh ok. Let me check. I've never installed any but the latest. Be back in a few.

Hi, here is the link that I would use and I would SAVE it to my Desktop, close any applications that are running that use Flash and close all browsers before installing.

See if that works better.

That's helpful, thanks! I checked a couple of applications, and it works nicely. However, I still can't see vids on 4shared.com, like this one:
http://www.4shared.com/file/205762002/7e69cb8e/Jean_Rocky_Skiing.html?s=1
Any ideas? (I've contacted 4shared.com, and they suggested using a different version of Adobe Flash, which I now have done, but I still can't watch the vids there).
Thanks.

Hi, Just getting back on the forum. I went to that website and it froze my system up, had to ctrl/alt/delete to get out.
I read over the FAQ, the only thing I saw was about Windows XP. Didn't see any system/Flash Player requirements. I have the latest FP, and the videos were start and stop.
I think the website may have a problem. Did they tell you exactly which version of FP they support? I think that would be
the question I would ask. Don't let them tell you well vs 8 and above. The above is the unknown. Maybe their "above" is 8.2:-)
Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
Let me know the versions they do support and we could look at the Flash files.
Thanks,
eidnolb
