Why am I being told to update Flash Player?

Why am I being told to update Flash Player? I have the latest version that, according to Adobe's test page, is working fine. This update request is preventing me from accessing certain sites such as Facebook and YouTube.

When I clicked on the "Adobe update page" that was given to me by Facebook, my antivirus said it was a blocked site and potentially dangerous.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player numerous times. Those sites work for a short time and then I cannot access them.

What can I do?

Help please.

DL

***UPDATE***

I have now noticed that I am unable to access Facebook on my iPod Touch and my BlackBerry PlayBook.

How are you being told that?  Where does the download link lead you: to an adobe.com website?

It's not an Adobe site. After some research, I believe it;'s a phishing site.

Since there has NEVER BEEN a Flash Player for iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) and there has NEVER BEEN a Flash Player for Blackberry... Neither of those can possibly be Flash related... at all.

As to the computer issue, we need to know what OS and browser you use or it's 100% guesswork.

The Blackberry Playbook says it has Flash installed.

On my computer, I have Windows 8 and I primarily use Chrome, but the same thing is happening on Firefox and Explorer.
