trying to install new adobe, or flash player
why has nothing happened when I've tried to download the latest adobe, or flash player? I've probably tried 15-20 + times since 1/29/14

uninstall your current flash player, http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
and manually download and install:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install _flash_player_ax.exe
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install _flash_player.exe
Flash Player (Mac OS X): http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac /install_flash_player_11_osx.dmg
