HELP!! I tried to located a missing file and accidentally chose the wrong one.

Now Lightroom has overwritten that file with the wrong photo and is doing the same to all the others near to it. I can't find any way to cancel. I turned Lightroom off hoping that would stop the damage but when I turn it back on, it continues to overwrite files. How do I stop it?! Is there anyway to reverse this?

Hi BlossomGleim,

Is this happening to all the images within a folder or a collection in Lightroom? If so,there could be two ways of doing this individually and on folder level.

• You can go to the location of incorrectly linked image and move it somewhere else so that Lightroom will show it as missing. Now you should be able to re-link that image with the actual image. If successful, All other images should also start mapping correctly.
• If you know that all images that have been re-linked incorrectly belong to a single folder, You can right click that folder in Lightroom and select "Update folder location" and show Lightroom to look for the images in the desired folder.
