Issue with Temperature and Tint When Applying Presets

Hi all,

Recently I noticed that when I apply a preset in Lightroom Classic (v8.4.1), as soon as I move my cursor the temperature and the tint change, distorting the preset I just chose.

Does anybody know how to fix this so it does not change the preset settings?

Thanks!

Update 10-14-19 - Hope this helps..

1). This is the screen right after I applied the preset. Note the preview and the main picture are the same

2). This is a screenshot of after I moved the cursor onto the main picture.

3). Whats interesting is, if you compare it to Lightroom CC... Lightroom CC keeps the photo at what the preview shows unlike Lightroom Classic..  Note the temperature and the tint are different in CC vs Classic, which is the driver of the difference between the preview and the actual photo in classic.

5). Lastly here is a screenshot of the temperature and tint section within the code of the preset (.xmp file)

When you moved the cursor, where did it go?

By default, LR will preview the effects of a preset as you scroll over them. Every now and then the preview does not reset when you scroll off the presets. Clicking in the edit history can help reset the view to where it should be.

After I apply the preset, I move the cursor immediately to the main picture. The cursor does not hover over any other preset, nor do i click on any other presets.

I just filed a bug report about this in the official Adobe feedback forum, where Adobe wants all bugs reported:

https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-preset-hover-preview-incorrect-for-...

Please add your constructive opinion to the bug report, and be sure to click Me Too and Follow in the upper-right corner. That will make it a little more likely that Adobe will prioritize a fix.

This problem occurs with presets containing Temp and Tint values from a non-raw photo.  Temp/Tint for non-raws are different settings from Temp/Tint for raws. The former ranges from -100 to +100, while the latter ranges from 2,000 to 50,000 and from -150 to +150.

I compared a preset containing IncrementalTemperature/Tint of +20 in LR 8.4.1 with LR 6.14, and the Loupe views in Develop were identical, which further suggests it's the hover preview in LR 8.4.1 that's buggy.  (LR 6 didn't have hover preview.)

I didn't test Lightroom (the cloud version, no longer called Lightroom CC), but if Loupe view in Lightroom differs from Loupe view in Lightroom Classic after applying the same preset, then that sounds like a bug in Lightroom as well.  You should report that bug in the feedback forum.  (Adobe product developers don't participate here.)

hmmm but my files are all in the RAW format so I don't think that would be cause of the issue here.

"my files are all in the RAW format so I don't think that would be cause of the issue here."

The bug appears to only strike when previewing a preset on raw files. But the preset must be originally made from a non-raw (or manually edited).
