I have another Accessibility Bug with Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 23.003.20244 (latest as of 7/25/2023).
In the tags tree when you select two tags at one time that are not the same tag. (For example, selecting a <P> and a <H3>.)
When trying to access the properties for the tags selected there is an Acrobat pop-up Error "The type must contain text and be less than 128 characters long. Please enter a valid type or cancel."
I have confirmed that if you select the tags individually this error does not pop-up when accessing the properties.
I have confirmed that if you select multiple of the same tag (Ex. Selected 4 <P>) this error does not pop-up when accessing the properties.
I have confirmed these results are on multiple computers using the same updated version.
I'm assuming others are experiencing this?
I'm assuming it's a bug in the latest version. Previously you could select any number of tags with varying tag types and edit the properties of all of the selected tags.
Any ideas?

Hi @AITester1 @wolfgang.housseaux @CC313351381swv @americopy @raeben3
The new version of Acrobat (23.03.20269) is now available addressing this issue. Please update the application from the help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html and see if that works.

I have been experiencing this pop-up intermittently and could not figure out why. It seemed to happen randomly but it I think you have nailed it. As I recall I was selecting Tag Elements in order to move them. Very frustrating the first time I had to crash Acrobat using Ctrl Alt Delete to get this box to close as it reappears if you try to close it. I discoveered that hitting Enter repeatedly it eventually closes.

Same problem. I just hope that it won't take months before Adobe fix that bug...

This is happening to us at work and we are no longer able to tag pdfs because of it (and we have a lot about to come in). It happens also when we nest items (span tags, list items), when spanning something, changing the order of tags in the Reading Order tree, creating a new tag (using 'Create new tag', not normal tagging), and when choosing Properties for more than one tag at a time (doesn't matter what the tag type is, could be the same type, could be different). All of which we do several times on each individual pdf.
This is an urgent problem for us. Please could you update us on this as a matter of urgency.

Hi @AITester1 @CC313351381swv @wolfgang.housseaux @raeben3
Hope you are doing well and thanks for highlighting this issue. A small video recording of the same would be very helpful
Would you mind sharing the version of the OS you are using? Also, please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud, generate the link, and share that link with us for further investigation.

Hi Amal
thank you for getting back to us. We are using Windows 10 Pro.
We work with secure documents so cannot film any of these. The problem occurs (not every time) when we try to do any of the things that I mentioned above. The pop up just pops up as we are doing these things.

I also experience an issue with the TEST PDF ACC2.pdf.
Download a recording here: https://we.tl/t-GINkJkdLZC
Again, when choosing Tags that are not identical error appears. You can click "OK" multiple times (sometimes 30+) to get to the properties window to edit. When tags are identical there is no error.

This started happening a couple weeks ago to us. The OP has nailed the conditions for it to occur. We went through similar trial and error. We get repeated errors from 20 to hundreds of pop ups of this error in succession with no chance to do anything but click the Okay button a million times. This is obviously incredibly aggravating and pointless.
We create medical directories with thousands of pages and this bug has made it extremely difficult to get anything done. This should be a top priority, because it is rendering your program useless in making a PDF accessible.

Addendum to our previous message:
This occurs when the Properties window is up when selecting tags of different types. The type selector on the properties window blanks out which in turn triggers the error that the type must have text. The program cause the error, then bombards the user with endless error messages. Several times we have had to use Task Manager to end the program after several hundred instances of the error. then come back in. We are having to save after every little step because of this. If we don't save, we frequently lose progress.
Please fix this!

Is anyone else experiencing the "Alternative Description for Links" for <Link> tags not functioning as you would anticipate? Even on this latest update any test I put in the Object Properties "Alternative Description for Links" does not get read by my Jaws or NVDA screen reader or appear in the link list. I need to use the "Alternative Description for Images" box for it to function properly.
