Acrobat Adobe DC Pro: can't scroll down quickly due to automatic invoke of "Converting Scanned Page to Searchable Image"

Community Beginner ,

Each time I open a new document and start scrolling down, the scrolling is stalled every second due to an attempt to "Converting Scanned Page to Searchable Image".

Editing tool--> Scanned Documents--> Setting/Revert to image does not help. (Setting does not help, and Revert to image is grayed out so I can't click it).

Help!

Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, Version: 2015.007.20033

Hi Benm,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you get the message "Converting Scanned Page to Searchable Image" when you open the document in Acrobat, is it happens only with a scanned document or with all the documents?

Try once to open a scanned document and open the Edit tool.

Then check if the box for "Recognize text " is marked. If yes, unmark the box and relaunch the application.

Then try to open the PDF again and check if you still receive the message.

Also, make sure that you are using the latest version of the application.

If the issue still persists, please share the application version and the OS installed on the machine.

Take the steps provided here Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
