Acrobat can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer

running windows 7.  At startup was getting the error AdobeGCClient.exe system error.  The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer.

Followed instructions to download and or repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable.

THEN the error changed to:The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer.

Followed instructions to uninstall, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable.  Then to REPAIR IT.

NONE OF THESE HAVE WORKED.

Looked for AdobeGCClient.exe to rename it to .old -- AND THE FILE IS NOT EVEN ON THE COMPUTER.

running Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

We can click "OK" and the error goes away but it is annoying and we want to remove it.

I can't remember the exact details now, but it turned out for me that those two files were in the 64 bit portion of win10 but not the 32 bit part (or it could have been the other way around). They need to be in both 64 and 32. I had to go find the two dlls. I went to https://www.dll-files.com/ It had the instructions to download the files and where to put them. You have to go into windows system and put them in the right place. Repairing and reinstalling the microsoft visual C++ did not do a thing because that is not the problem. You have to go get those two dlls and put them where they need to be.

Thank you for the reply.  I should have specified that we did get the 2 files in both 64 and 32 and they are in the correct places.  Yet the problem I described persists.
