Acrobat crashes when printing. Windows 10. New as of 11/09/2021

Adobe Acrobat reader crashes when printing.

This is new today. It crashes on the same pdf file I printed yesterday (not pdf file related).

The same file(s) can be printed on another machine to the same printer.

It cashes the moment one clicks the printer icon or selects print. The print dialog never displays.

There may have been an update overnight. The windows update does not show an overnight  update but acrobat could have updated.

I ran the 'repair' tool, same problem.

I reinstalled arcobat reader, same problem.

Printing in other applications seems fine (Word , Excel)

Other features of Acrobat work fine.

Is there a crash log?

Installed Acrobat: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
Version: 21.7.20099.454979
Creation Date: 2021/10/05

OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10
OS Version: 10.0.19043

Thanks for any insights provided!

I fixed the problem by installing Sumatra pdf viewer.

I should add that I also tried disabling all the enhanced security. No change.

@defaultqlf5uciqc0t9 If the PDF can print normally on another computer system, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat DC on your computer to see if that fixes the problem. Also, you first mention the crash is happening with Acrobat Reader, which is a different app. Which one are you having trouble with?

How to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat (adobe.com)

Yes, Sorry, both cases were Acrobat Reader (the free app).

I did reinstall.. no change.

Thanks.

I am having the same issue in that when I open a pdf and then try to print Adobe just stops.  I presume it has crashed.  This is regardless of whether I select the printer icon from the menu or use control P.  I have removed and reinstalled several times.  I don't recall exactly when this stopped working but I do believe that it was still working when I initially upgraded from Windows 10 to 11.  I did try the other suggestion of using the Sumatra pdf viewer and that does work fine.  However, this is an alternate workaround not a fix to Adobe.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks.

I have the same problem. I can add that in my case Windows 10 did an auto update the night before the pdf print crashes started. I have tried all the suggested fixes noted above, including installing the Sumatra application. I'm using it for printing. A workaround, not a fix, as you have stated.

I don't believe advertising another program is "fixing Acrobat". Nice try, though.
