I have the same version Acrobat DC Extension installed in the Chrome-based browsers Chrome, Edge, and Brave. Version 15.3.3. It works as advertised (free conversions, etc.) in the Chrome browser but in both Edge and Brave (both of which are Chrome-based browsers) when I try to convert a PDF to a JPG, for instance, the extension immediately (in a pop-up panel) asks me to subscribe to one of the cost Acrobat options. What's the problem?

And I just now removed, downloaded, and installed, the Edge version of the extension and then recycled the Edge browser. After restarting browser (W10 desktop PC) still asking me to upgrade to a paid version.uy t

I see no way to EDIT my previous reply as I can do in other forums. So here is my latest info. Received email from Adobe telling me that they plan to close my case (but I don't know which case -I have 2 cases open..) I do not know the case number of this case.
Here is text from the email sent to me from Adobe:

ALSO, when I open a PDF in my current Chrome browser using the current pdf extension, I do not see any "search" icon. When I "save as" the same pdf as a pdf and then open it with W10 desktop PC Acrobat DC - I do see the "search" icon (the little magnifying glass). Why is the search icon missing and how do I search the web pdf?

Above are 2 snips relating to my previous reply. - one with pdf opened in Chrome browser, and the second with same pdf, downloaded to my PC, and then opened with Acrobat DC. You can see that in Chrome, the PDF search icon is missing....

1. There are no free conversions. You need an Acrobat subscription to convert. If you've found a way that is free, I suggest you keep it quiet and not complain to Adobe.
2. Google make the PDF viewer for Chrome. If you want it to have a search icon, you need to request it from Google. Or use Ctrl+F as normal.

I do not need to CONVERT but I do want to be able to SEARCH/FIND. The SEARCH/FIND icon (little magnifying glass) seems to be missing in the free Chrome extension.

I assume that, because your Acrobat Pro DC software is a subscription-based licensing, and in order to use some of the editing features provided by the extension, you must be subscribed and current with the payments, the licensing allows you to use Acrobat in two computing devices but not simultaneously.
You must sign off of Acrobat from the computer where you last used Acrobat, for example, then sign in with your AdobeID in Acrobat in the other computer where you'll be using it.
I am aware that this exactly may have nothing to do with your current issue but I think it is worth noting since, a connection attempt coming from two or more different web browsers may appear as different computer devices to the receiving end, regardless of originating from the same IP address.
In addition, if you want the extension to interface with your Adobe Acrobat Pro properly you must specify Acrobat as the default PDF handler on each of the web browsers that you installed the this extension.

Yes, I know, and I answered your question 3 days ago. Here is the reply again:
2. Google make the PDF viewer for Chrome. If you want it to have a search icon, you need to request it from Google. Or use Ctrl+F as normal.
If you don't like the way PDFs work in Chrome, you need to complain to Google.

I understand from your reply that the Acrobat extension for Chrome was written by Google rather than by Adobe. Surprised!

No, you are not correct. The Acrobat extension for Chrome was written by Adobe.
I think you assume that the Acrobat extension for Chrome is concerned with showing the PDF file in Chrome. No. It is nothing to do with that, and cannot add any buttons or anything else. Chrome shows PDFs exactly the same without the Acrobat extension.
The confusing part is that at one time Acrobat Reader DID include an extension for Chrome, to read PDF files. But Google blocked that deliberately about 8 years ago.

I am totally confused now.
You (Test Screen Name) said:
"2. Google make the PDF viewer for Chrome".
So then I asked Google Support, and the Google guy said that Adobe wrote the Chrome Acrobat extension.
And now you (Test Screen Name) say "The Acrobat extension for Chrome was written by Adobe".
So why wouldn't I be confused?

Let's see if anything wrong was said.
- You (Test Screen Name) said: "2. Google make the PDF viewer for Chrome". TRUE
- the Google guy said that Adobe wrote the Chrome Acrobat extension. TRUE
- And now you (Test Screen Name) say "The Acrobat extension for Chrome was written by Adobe". TRUE and exactly what the Google guy said.
I'm not sure why you find this confusing UNLESS you believe "the Acrobat extension for Chrome" and "the PDF viewer for Chrome" to be the same thing. They are not. As I said before "I think you assume that the Acrobat extension for Chrome is concerned with showing the PDF file in Chrome. No. It is nothing to do with that..."

Right. I assumed that the two softwares were the same thing. YOU fully understand but as a "new" PDF on Chrome user I had no idea that 2 different softwares were involved. I do have the free Adobe Acrobat DC installed on my PC. Also, yesterday in Chrome, I clicked on an option to make Acrobat the default PDF "processor". When I did that the view of the PDF I was looking at in Chrome immediately changed to an Acrobat look complete with the search icon. I have no idea if there is any downside to making this change.
