Acrobat DC - Optimize PDF - Multiple Files Settings

New Here ,
Jan 14, 2020 Jan 14, 2020

Hi,

In Optimize PDF I can use Advanced Optimization where I can choose optimal settings.

As I see Advanced Optimization is avaible only for single file.
For multiple files I can't find any place to change paramethers - in my case unfortunately the images after reduction look unacceptable.

Is it any way to set own settings for multiple files optimization?

In the Action Wizard Acrobat Pro you can you create an action for this.

Hello

I'm using the adobe acrobat pro dc

I have several PDF files, originally scanned.

Well I used the action Optimize Multiple Files. Unfortunately some files weren't readble after.

I had to open one file

clicked scan ocr

enhance

scanned document

enhance

After that the file was readble

But I couldn't find the way to do it in multiple files.

Is that possible ?

Thanks a lot Manoel

I created an action to optimize multiple files, because I have around 5000 pdf's. Using this action, some files were partiable editable.

Other ideia was to combine files and then enhance manually.

I couldn't find the "enhance"on the Tools menu

This isn't true. I think perhaps it used to be there. But looking through the available Actions in the Actions Wizard, Advanced Optimization isn't there, again, its just Reduce File Size, which has some preset settings built into it. I had to resort to using the "Go To" action so at least it would open the files and Advanced dialogue for me automatically. Then I had to click through hundreds of files manually. I know there was a way to do this with the last version... very frustrating.

It is available in the Save step:

Okay, so there is a separate Action for "Reduce File Size" within Document Processing, but access to the Advanced Optimizer is nested within the Save Action, (to be clear for others that are confused by the organisational inconsistency there).

I'm still baffled. In Action Wizard, I click "New Action". I add "Document Processing -> Reduce File Size". It shows "Specify Settings" with a "Prompt User" checkbox underneath, which is already checked. I click "Save", and it asks me to name the Action. I do that and click "Save" there. The whole dialog disappears and I have a new Action. Then I try to use it, but it never asks me anything - the only thing I can do is add files or folders and click "Start". When I do that, it asks me for each file (one by one) what version I want for compatibility, then whether I want to save changes before closing. And the resulting file is exactly the same size as the original.

Can you go even more step-by-step? I never see the Output Options.

Don't use "Document Processing -> Reduce File Size"..

Use a save step.

Oh, I see - it's not really a step of the process of making an Action, but a different tool to include called "Save & Export -> Save". Thanks.
