Acrobat Pro 2017 change language

Hi,

how can I change the language of Acrobat Pro 2017? Control Panel >Programs and Features >Acrobat Pro 2017 >Change >Modify >Languages only shows English and so I cannot add anything else. I installed the Multi Language Version, though...

Open Acrobat and go to Edit - Preferences - Languages and you'll see it there.

I can only choose English, "choose at application startup" or "same as the operating system" there. I tried the other two options but the both result in English again although OS is not English.

Also, exactly what license did you buy (don't tell us any personal info or serial numbers!)?

Licenses are language and locale specific, and using an MUI installer does not change that.

I don't know. Just bought a Windows box version from my local distributor (ALSO). So what you are saying is, that there are different licenses for different languages of the same product? And one cannot just change the language? I don't think I ever experienced something similar with any other vendor. Since I already used the license and if it's the wrong language license, I would have to buy a complete new license or are there any other options?

Also because you are mentioning the serial number. This forum is quite untrustworthy. 2 minutes after I posted, I got two private messages with the sole purpose of stealing my serial number. Both guys had names like Adobe-xy or Official.Support-xyz. More unexpierenced users may well fall into that trap.

In addition I selected a username/nickname for the forums but nevertheless my full name is shown. How can I change/fix that?

- Yes, that's how Adobe's licensing works. It's not ideal, true.

- Contact your distributor and ask for a refund if what they sold you is not what they said it was.

- Please let us know the names of those users and we'll ban them. ONLY people with a STAFF icon under their name actually work for Adobe (I'm not, for example), and they will never ask you for your serial number, as they have access to your account's details anyway.

- Your full name is only visible to you. We only see you as "gladston3".

1. Okay, and there is now workaround like installing the German language files manually I guess?

2. I don't think it's their fault. I just didn't check the language since it doesn't matter usually with a Multi Language installation. They would probably refund me, but I already "burned" the serial and linked it to my Adobe account. So I don't really see a chance there.
3. You know that, I know that, but again less experienced users may not. Adobe should block usernames with Adobe or Support in it or block private messagges completely.

Thanks. They'll be taken care of soon. But as TSN mentioned, they just pop back in using a different name. I agree that words like "Adobe" or "Support" should not be allowed as part of the user name, but that's not for us to decide.

Ok, that is the MUI installer, but it sounds as if you may not have the license you need. What language do you need, and in what country is the retailer? It is common, in my experience, that language versions are sold only in particular regions, for several reasons including support, taxes, and exclusive agreements both with distributors and translators, as well as helpfully reducing the greymarket.

I can't find "ALSO" on the Adobe official partner list, but their name may be causing problems because also is such a common word.

Awful to hear these scammers are still at work, and glad to hear you did not fall for it. If you can copy and paste their exact user names we may be able to get them thrown off, but of course will be back with new names.

Finally, some good news (if rather ridiculous). You see your own name when you are signed in. Other people do not. See this image:

I bought  Adobe Acrobat 2017 Pro from Adobe - it's showing up in my adobe account.  It installed in Spanish.  I installed it several times thinking I made a mistake.  I finally changed a setting in the registry to get it in English.  Did I buy a spanish version without realizing?  How could that even happen?   Does Adobe sell an ENGLISH version of acrobat Pro WITHOUT cloud capability?

I have a similar problem.  My Adobe acrobat pro is in English and I would like to switch it to French.

Can you tell which key you modified in the registry?
