Hi Adobe,
I don't know what happened with Acrobat Pro 2023, but its a nightmare of slow redraw and unusable page scrolling. If I open anything mildly hi-res (300pdi and up) at a larger format A2, A1 etc. its almost impossible to zoom in to a large detail or move about the page. This did not happen on the previous version that I was using Acrobat Pro 2020. What has happened? I need this program to be able to check large format jobs for print, currently it's unusable. I have to force quite after I do one zoom or it will beach ball for an eternity trying to redraw the image.
I'm on a Macbook Pro M1 Max, 64GB Ram, 1TB HD with plenty of space. Ventura 13.6.
Adobe Creative Cloud gives me no way to revert back to an older usable version. Please advise how I can select an older versionto install, as I cannot do my job with this program as it is. Please Help!
Many thanks,
GG.

The following helped with acrobat slowness on my Mac Studio M1 Max
go to Adobe Acrobat > Preferences > Page Display > Rendering > Uncheck 'Use page cache' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Very pleased turning off these options has solved the issue of redwaring when zooming in. this is in OSX 12.5 Monterey. Acrobat 24. 2015 27" iMac. Is odd as I had tried turing off the whole smoothing which ad not helped. But turning off the individual checkboxes has. I did find turing them on again caused the issue to return. Thank you.

3 months later and this issue still fcking exists. Do adobe not realise that people pay for this? and it is unusable. Fcking hopeless.

By farr the worst version of Acrobat. The redraw sucks!
If you have any amount of images on the page it's just redicoulus.
Pitstop has been effected once again making editing near impossible.
HELP ADOBE this is no joke!
Working for a large printer with a PDF workflow has caused us nothing but headaches and fustration!!!

Same issue here - slow, slow, slow and often I end up force quiting. On top of that the page up/page down and arrow keys don't work reliably to navigate through pages of the PDF. Wish I could revert to an older version that works like it used to....

They make it extreamly hard to down grade unless you have a good back up on time machine your sunk!
Our company strives to be Info safe compliant with all apps updated as the update comes down.
We are rethinking our stance on this application.
Whats worse is there seems no sence of Urgency to fix the issue.
I think we as Creative Cloud users should be given a rebate as the product is defective!
Come on Adobe this is truley painful!

Good morning Amal
It the fact thiat this has been going on since December wiht what seems like no urgency from Adobe.
Also in your reply you state future updates (pural) so are you saying it's going to take more that one update to fix the issue?
My confidence is sliping!

It is very difficult to continue with a subscription service when using the product consistently causes delays and frustration.

Response from Adobe: time we were offered a refund for all those lost hours trying to navigate round a flashing, constantly refreshing, navigation-less program? Seriously...
Hi there,
We are sorry to hear that.
Rest assured, our engineering team is actively working on resolving the issue. At this moment, we don't have a specific timeline for completion.
However, please know that the fix will be incorporated into future updates.
We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process.

Same issue. It's happening even with small files. The old versions allowed me to review and edit very large architectural drawing sets. But now it doesn't function with 1-3 one page documents open.

Adobe couldnt give a sht because their TOS covers them entirely. Section 9.1 "The Covered Parties further disclaim any warranty that (A) the Services and Software will meet your requirements or will be constantly available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; (B) the results obtained from the use of the Services and Software will be effective, accurate or reliable; (C) the quality of the Services and Software will meet your expectations; or (D) any errors or defects in the Services and Software will be corrected."
They dont even need to fix the bugs according to the TOS lmao

Their TOS is just a CYA.
Face it these issues could be fixed tomorrow if need be.
Were ALL being held captive!
The struggle is real Adobe!

Can anybody have an idea of how to load the previous 2022 version? I keep all back versions of all my CS apps but this update wiped out the previous version, so if i uninstall it just pushes me back to the 2023 version. I cant work with 2023 any longer until this gets fixed.

They make it very hard if not impossible to make the move backward.
Lessons lerned from this mess, once Acrobat and Pitstop both work correctly, quckly make a good Time Machine back up and turn off auto updates for all your CC apps.
It really seems like there is No urgency to fix the issues. Come on Adobe!

AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! The lost time and frustration! It makes it hard to want to implement any suggested fix bc one has no idea if it will just get worse. I keep getting notices about AI from Adobe ... forget AI and FIX THE FEATURES YOUR CUSTOMERS HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR!!!
I am not an engineer and I do not typically deal with dense, layered pdfs. I cannot imagine how frustrating these problems are for those who rely on Acrobat more heavily than me.

Also, bring back the ability to see the entire name of the Adobe PDF file within the tab! When I have only one tab open, I need to see what I named the file so I know that I have the right one opened. You only narrowed showing the name of the file when multiple tabs were open taking up the width of the size you have set for the app But when there's only one tab open, show me the whole file name! I feel like it used to be self adjusted so that when you only had one tab open, it showed the entire width, then, when you added another tab, open it reduced its size, but still to fit the size of the screen app. When you're working with multiple PDF files and you need to see the month name of the file opened, let's say, this is important to see!

Hey everybody, I think I might have found an actual fix. I'm attaching a screengrab of the preferences panel. I unchecked "Smooth line art" and "Smooth images" in the Page Display preferences and all the issue seems to have cleared up. WAIT, it gets weirder... So, I wanted to see what the image quality difference is with those turned on, so I turned them back on, restarted Acrobat, and the issue is still gone. I'm openeing every PDF I can find that should trigger the issue but... still no lag. Why it would simply need those preferences toggled off and on is anybody's guess but I haven't found a PDF that triggers the lag so far, and I'm trying known offenders as well as new ones with big images (it really does not apper to be a cahing thing). Anyway, hope it works for you as well and let me know either way. Have a great day everybody!
