Hey there!

As shared above, Acrobat crashes while opening a pdf with 3D content. Is this a behavior with only pdfs that has 3D content or other files too?

Since you have already checked the required 3D preferences setting. I would like you to check if these steps would help-

1- What's the version of Acrobat you are working with? Open Acrobat>Help>Check for update and install the latest patch.

2- Is it possible for you to upgrade your Mac OS?

3- Reset Acrobat's preferences settings to default and check back. Here are the steps how to do that: https://community.adobe.com/t5/Acrobat/How-to-reset-Acrobat-Preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792...

4- Refer to this help artcile, where similar issues has been addressed. https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html#Basicsystemtr... try the basic troubleshooting suggested.

Let us know if none of the solution provided above works for you.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Only pdf 's with placed 3D crashes or created pdf with 3D crashes. The answers to your questions are as follows::

-[1]- Acrobat DC 2019.012.20040

-[2]- Not possible atm to upgrade to Mojave - business decision

-[3]- Resetting preference did not help

-[4]-Have not tried this yet as this seems quite time consuming. I have however communicated this to our IT administrators.

The third party plug-in used used to create the .u3d is Esko. Esko had already looked into this and claims it is an Adobe issue. I have tested this on my colleagues computer - this also crashes. I have also logged in on another computer to re-down acrobat to test but still no success. I may need to re-download an older version of Acrobat [X] as this does seem to help but I need to fully test this. Please instruct me on how to re-download Acrobat x  through the Cloud as I cannot seem to  access this. as this is the only work around I can think of at the moment.

Hey Susane, did you find a solution? I'm facing this problem too. I'm creating u3d files in photoshop, and enabling 3D content allows me to place the 3D, but any other actions crash Acrobat.

Cheers,

Nik
