Acrobat Pro DC doesn't allow me to access my PDF files

New Here ,

Hello, I have been using Acrobat Pro DC to edit my pdf files for a long time now, but just last night, I'm not sure what's happening, I can no longer access any of the PDF files through Acrobat Pro DC. I can open and read them through Acrobat Reader DC just fine, just not the Pro version. Ever time I try to open, I get a pop up like the image I attached.

I have tried everything that I know of so far. Uninstalling and reinstalling the program, repairing the program, changing the permission in the Acrobat Pro DC parent files, making sure that all of the permissions for the PDF files are accessible, etc. Is it just a malfunction in the Acrobat Pro DC app or is there something else I can do to repair? Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshot. It seems that the document is located at the desktop of your computer.

  1. Right-click the file or folder, and then select Properties.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Under Group or User names, click your name to see the permissions you have.
  4. Select Edit, and then select to check the check boxes for the permissions that you need, and then select OK.

Also, do you open the same file from same location in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC? Please confirm once, and see if you have it saved on Document Cloud storage and opening from there.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi,

All of the permissions are checked... I open the same file from the same location in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, all from my desktop. I don't believe I have Document Cloud so I wouldn't be able to open it from there. In addition to that program, I can't seem to uninstall the program from my laptop, whether it be through the windows program (apparently I dont' have sufficient priviledge even if all of the boxes are checked for the permissions) as well as through adobe creative cloud.

Please help... thank you
