I have an iMac Pro that I reformatted the hard drive and did a clean install of macOS 13.1. Then I did a clean install of the Acobe Creative Suite. Acrobat will constantly lag with the Spinning Beachball of Death appearing several times while trying to work with a document.
Both the OS and Adobe Suite were clean installations, yet Acrobat is still unusable.
I set the Reading preferences to only read the first page (I am AMAZED that you cannot disable this useless and highly problematic feature) and I have also disabled Accessibility. No improvement.
Maybe deinstall Acrobat and never use it again since it's barely usable?

Hello there,
I hope you're doing great, and sorry for the trouble.
As you have the latest version of Acrobat, try resetting the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau... and see if that works.
Also, enable the root account in MAC, try using the application there, and check.
As you mentioned that you had downloaded the application from Adobe Creative Cloud, please try to uninstall the application using the Acro- Cleaner tool , reboot the system and install the application from the direct link: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html
Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Krutikka

Are you asking me to enable to root user on my Mac and then interactively log into that account on my machine? That is a HUGE security risk, and I REFUSE to do that. I am astonished that an Adobe employee would ask a user to do that. The root account in the macOS is BY DEFAULT set to no-login/non-interactive use. And for good reason.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear that.
Have you tried the suggested steps earlier?
Please try the steps and let us know how it goes.
