Acrobat Serial Number Upgrade?

New Here ,
Oct 08, 2019 Oct 08, 2019

I am trying to install the Acrobat Pro XI that I purchased a few years ago on my new computer.  My purchase was registered and I have the serial number from My Adobe account and used the installation link from my order history. But I am getting a "Serial Number Upgrade" error message that says "the serial number is valid but a qualifuying product wasn't found on the computer". How can that be when it's the same product and serial number listed in My Adobe account? Adobe chat wasn't helpful.

This was a reduced price upgrade, from Acrobat Pro 9 or 10 (X). You now need to prove you owned the older version, by entering its serial number - a second, older, serial number. I'd have expected Chat to know this, <sigh>.

Hey there!

++adding on to the expert's answer.

As error message said, "the serial number is valid but a qualifying product wasn't found on the computer", you may check your Adobe account(if your email is registered) there should be an older version of Acrobat (probably, IX or X) which was purchased as full license not an upgrade. You need to enter the serial number of full license first, in order to install the upgrade.

Check the pointer 2: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html
