Acrobat shuts itself down immediately after starting.

Hello everyone,

I installed Acrobat on my new PC with Windows 11. Whether I just open it or open a file, it displays correctly for two seconds, then a blank window opens briefly and Acrobat exits.

When I open Acrobat as an admin, I get the error message: "The instruction at 0x00007FFFEF584AA0 referenced memory 0x00... The read operation could not be performed in memory."

Other than that, I've only installed Illustrator and Photoshop so far. Runs with no problems, like everything else.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it a few times now. Doesn't help.

Does anyone have an approach for me?

Thank you and best regards!

Thank you. It worked now after I downloaded another version (2020 classic?).

Hi @WCEnte

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

Since you have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application a couple of times, then we'd try these additional steps to see if that helps:

1- Right-click on Acrobat; the location of the icon would probably be C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

2- Properties> Compatibility

3- If "Run in compatibility mode" is checked, kindly uncheck it. click Ok

Just in case this doesn't help either, then-

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Let us know the result.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Had the same problem. Looked at the program file properties and it had a check mark beside the compatibility mode making it for an older version of windows. Unchecked the compatibility mode, and the Acrobat Reader launched perfectly.
