I keep getting this message saying Acrobat is malware and will damage the computer. Can anyone advise?

Get a different malware program or exclude.

As above. And or where did you download Acrobat from?

Downloaded directly from Adobe as part of the Creative Cloud

I think this is a message from Apple itself. I suspect you have some malware already on the computer attaching itself to Acrobat to sneak past border patrol, and Apple won't let it happen.

Do you think if I delete the Acrobat from my computer and then reinstall from the cloud it will cure the problem?

It might, but if you have malware waiting to infect it, it will happen again. I am speculating, we don't know the cause of this message but I've seen a few reports.

What's the exact version number of Acrobat? What's your OS version?

SOLVED! Thanks for all your help and advice. I have suddenly realised the message was refering to my old version of Adobe Acrobat! My stupid I know, but I forgot the older verion (6, I think) was still on the computer.

Hi, I've got the same problem! Where did you find the old version (presumably in Applications on a Mac) and how did you differentiate the versions?

I can see 2 app files and one appears to be Acrobat Pro DC? Don't remember buying that? I don't think have an old version on there, but need to check!

Doug

Hi Doug

I found the old version in Applications. It was called 'Acrobat Pro' – the new version is called 'Acrobat DC'.

I also ran an Anti Virus Programme called 'Antivirus Zap' which you can purchase in the App Store

Hope this helps

Mike
