I am trying to install and use acrobat x pro on a windows 7 64 bit machine. The acrobat install appears to go fine; but when I open acrobat I get an application manager is damaged or corrupt please download and install. I do so, then I get adobe installed failed to initialize, please download adobe support advisor. Which I do, and the support advisor can find no problems.
I have uninstalled many times, installed on a clean admin login several times, updated manually (the application manager error seems to prohibit any update from the adobe help menu). Nothing helps. I have seen this issue several times, with no real solutions. I REALLY would like a solution!

Do you have any other suggestions?

It seems like a fatal error occurred while creating the database file. There can be many reasons to this problem. Not having correct MSXML version is a common cause that i have found with other users so far. We would be interested in to get it resolved by our Technical Support Team. I have sent you a private message with more information on getting this done. Kindly reply.

Sorry, I decided to take some drastic action before I got your message.
I had seen in a forum someone with a similar problem, and they have suggested deleting the program file from common files/Adobe/Acrobat which I tried. That didn't work. So I decided to remove all adobe programs and delete all Adobe program files. That worked! I was able to install the application manager and then acrobat.
So unfortunately, I have nothing left to show you in terms of the previous error. If there's something further you would like me to do please let me know.
Thank you very much for your help,
Diane

Hi Diane,
I am surprised if Adobe Acrobat Cleaner Tool didn't remove these.
Well, good to hear that its working fine now.
