I recently installed my Acrobat X Pro copy on my new Windows PC. After several times of using it, a window started popping up upon each use, saying that the serial number is invalid for Acrobat Pro (and a count-down for buying the product within 30 days). That never happened to me in prior installations (as I've had several computers changed since I orinally bought this product). I'm sure I have the right serial number.

Acrobat X is an old and unsupported version, and is not officially compatible with any current OS.
To increase the chances of it working properly make sure you have all updates installed (up to 10.1.16) and run it in Compatibility Mode with an earlier OS, like Windows 7.

You must use a dedicated FTP client to open the link, it won't work in most browsers.
If you did all of that and are still getting this error message, post the EXACT text of it here.
Also, did you purchase this directly from Adobe? If not, is it registered under your name?

Thank you for the response. The problem persists. Attached is the pop-up window: when I key in the serial number (in the area which I've grayed out to conceal the number), the warning yellow sign to the right appears just when I key in the last digit, and the error message seen below it appears. The product was purchased from an Adobe authorized reseller. The installation is on Windows 10, and I had never had this problem (even on Windows 10) in the past.

Is it maybe an upgrade license? At any rate, we can't really help you with this issue. You need to contact Adobe directly.

What's the exact text that is shown when you enter the serial-number?
Also, is the license registered with Adobe?

We have the same issue, apparently Adobe is deactivating our Adobe Acrobat X installations. Regardless of how old it is we paid for the software and it works just fine.. Until now. This is ridiculous. your activation server is deactivating licenses.

I am encountering the same issue when trying to launch Adobe Acrobat X Pro from the CS6 suite I bought in 2012. I am still on Windows 7. My serial number is not recognised by the app, however the Adobe website acknowledges that this serial number is in used. Other apps from CS56 suite work fine.

If you're facing this problem, submit a formal complaint to your state's attorney general's office. We shouldn't allow these companies to keep taking advantage of us for their own gain, as they're constantly hugry for more.

We have purchased software from another vendor. we will not purchase any Adobe products moving forward. Also nice to know, the software we now use doesnt require 30 other processes to run, allowing adobe to steal data they then sell to others. If I paid over a thousand dollars for Creative Suite and then had it stop working because Adobe shut down the license servers.. I would be pissed!!

I'm still using Win 7 and happy with it. All of a sudden my legit copy of Adobe X Pro is not registered and telling me to enter my license. Once I enter it I'm told it is not a legitimate license. My software was legitimately purchased. I can't remember clearly as it was long ago, but I seem to recall purchasing it from Adobe and having them ship the CD out to me.

I have the same problem. I have been using X Pro on Windows 10. I still have the original CD and serial number. I have the same problem. My old laptop is slowly dying, so I bought a new one and tried to install X Pro on it. It tells me to deactivate X Pro on my other computer. The Adobe instructions are to click on the Help tab and select Deactivate. My Help tab does not have Deactivate on it. I searched Adobe for further information without success. They have an idiot AI chat bot, and no access to a real person as far as I could see. There is a button to Contact a Real Person, and it just sends you back to the Chat Bot! I do not want to subscribe to the new Cloud; I've tried it on someone else's computer and I hate the interface. I simply want to continue using the X Pro that I paid for and am familiar with. Can anybody help?

If you don't have a Deactivate option under Help in your original Acrobat X installation then there's either something wrong with it, or what you purchased was not a normal license. Did you buy it directly from Adobe? Was it a part of some promotion, or an educational or volume license, by any chance?

Yes, it was an educational license (student teacher edition), for two computers, and it was purchased in the US. It has been updated to the latest supported version, 10.1.16. I did install it on two computers (obviously not used simultaneously). Is there any way I can transfer the licence to my new computer?

I'm not quite sure how it works with such licenses. Maybe it's like a volume license, where you have seats instead of activations? I'm not 100% sure. What happened, exactly, when you tried to install it on the new computer?

After installing it and opening it I got a pop-up window that said I had reached the limit (2) for licence number and that it would be deactivated on the new computer within 2 days unless I deactivated it on one of the original computers. But I could not find any way of deactivating it.

I'm sorry, I can't help you any further. Adobe discontinued the option to reset current activations via its support reps, and if you can't do it yourself, then you're basically stuck...
