I have my disc for Acrobat XI Standard. Just got a new computer and there is no disc drive. Since this is an old version, I am having an issue getting a downloadable file to reinstall. After hours trying to get information/support, hope I can get some guidance here. Every link support provides is to buy a subscription for the newest versions.

Hi, @jan_0542, you have two different challenges ahead of you, either of which is likely to stop your goal.
First, Acrobat XI has reached EOL, End Of Life. That means that Adobe no longer supports that version of the program. All software companies do this, Adobe does not stand alone. After so many years, with so many different computers to try and support as well as all of the different OSs, the task is insurmountable.
The next issue is that there is no guarantee that your copy of Acrobat Standard will run on your new computer with its new OS.
Sadly, the only options that I can see are either getting into the subscription model, buying a perpetual license, or going to a 3rd party PDF application. (As a Mac user, I have none to recommend.)
Very sorry for the bad news.

Good news Got a link for the XI and it is now installed and working fine. Made a copy of that file for any needs in the future.

That’s a frustrating situation! Since Acrobat XI is an older version, Adobe’s support for it is quite limited, and they push for newer subscriptions. You can try checking your Adobe account online if you registered the product—it might still have a download link available. Alternatively, third-party download sites may have the installer, but be cautious to ensure it’s from a trusted source. Investing in an external USB disc drive could also help if you frequently deal with older disc-based software. On a lighter note, while dealing with tech headaches like this, I’ve been playing EA Games to unwind—it really helps to take a break. Hope you find a solution!
