Adjust margins or where centering

I have tried reading various posts, but none appear to solve this issue. We have a custom report that prints to pdf (we are working with the creator of the report as well), but the system that prints it to pdf uses the printer's margins--and since Adobe essentially has no margins it prints at the very top of the page, which results in shifting everything up. It's a check format, so the MICR (account and routing information) prints too high. I just need it to add about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch at the top and shift everything down. And it has to be something that I can show unsophisticated users how to do (ideally once and done). I have not been able to find anywhere this can be done. As I said, I'm hoping the report writer can find a solution, but in the meantime I'm looking as well.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, when you are creating the PDF from the source file it prints at the very top of the page, which results in shifting everything up.

Acrobat is not a word processing or document layout program it's a document display program. If you have access to the source file from which the PDF was created, please try to change the margin settings in that file and see if that works for you.

Also, you may try to use the Crop Pages tool > set page size and described in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/crop-pdf-pages.html and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal

A few questions:

System?

Is the PDF supplied by the report writer the right size and with correct positioning when you view it?

What are your Print settings for Page Size & Handling re: "fit" settings?  It matters when you print it that you do not reduce it to fit the imageable area of YOUR printer. i.e. never select Fit. It must be Actual Size.

Can you supply a sample file? (without any personal data of course0

We're still testing so I don't have the report itself yet, it's an SSRS report in our software (Yardi), provided by Yardi. I want it to print actual size, but I've tried various options to resize to see if it shifts, actually editing the document isn't a fix because I need other users to be able to do it on a multipage document. If I could just force the printer to start 1/4 inch from the top, but still actual size it would probably be perfect.
