I have Acrobat Pro still installed on my PC and do not want to uninstall it until Acrobat DC is up and running. But Acrobat Pro DC crashes within a few seconds of opening. I have uninstalled in and reinstalled it. Have powered down my PC twice. and my windows software is up to date.

Hi naraven,
As we have checked the account details using the email address you are logged into the forums, you have a perpetual license for Acrobat XI Pro as well as subscription for Acrobat Pro DC. Could you confirm the application you are facing issue with - Acrobat XI or Acrobat DC?
Also try following troubleshooting steps:
1- Try installing the latest update for Acrobat from this link: Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows reboot the machine after installing update and try again.
2- Launch Acrobat as an administrator- Run an Adobe program as administrator | Windows 7, Vista
3- Try running Acrobat in compatibility mode ( if using Windows 10) by locating Acrobat icon on the desktop > right click > properties > compatibility tab > check the box run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 from the drop-down options. click Apply OK and check.
Is there any error message you are getting when Acrobat crashes? Does this happen with you open any pdf file in Acrobat or when launching the application?
Also, let us know the operating system installed on the machine?
Let us know if you need any help.
Shivam

I am having this problem with Adobe DC Pro just installed on a machine with Adobe XI Pro.
DC Pro dies about 10 seconds after launch. Occasionally I can open a file before dies.
It seems that many of the reports of this problem do not get resolved. And the instructions for troubleshooting seemed like shots in the dark. Not a good sign.
Adobe has 7 days to help me figure this out before I cancel my subscription.

When you uninstall Adobe Acrobat DC (standard/pro), it doesn't remove all of the files placed on your computer. It appears that at least 1 of these residual files causes an association of the install with an adobe account/subscription. If you recently downgraded from a subscription license to a perpetual license, then you'll need to remove these problem files so that they can be put back on the system by the installer. (remember to make backups of anything before you delete it since these locations can be prone to accidental errors)
The orphaned files can be found in these locations:
%appdat%\Adobe
%localappdata%\Adobe
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe

Thank you for quick reply. Before I try this I need to clarify, as I have not downgraded. I was already on Adobe Creative Cloud, the photography plan (annual, paid monthly). I just added Acrobat Pro DC, also an annual plan. paid monthly. Almost every time I try to utilize the "fill & sign" feature, the program closes without saving after 2 to 4 charatcers are typed into the second box. Here is the workflow: Open document in Pro DC, select fill & sign, click on first section and fill, click on second section and begin typing. App freezes, then closes without saving. I am able to reopen the document immediately, and the cycle continues.

There's a significant difference between the issue you're describing and what this thread is relating to. I wouldn't expect what I suggested being a solution to your problem.
