As Sara suggested, I contacted phone support. In my case the problem turned out to be a failure in the uninstall of the previous version (11) of Acrobat. Phone Support used the Microsoft tool at

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

get Acrobat Pro 11 uninstalled. Once this was done, the install of Acrobat DC completed successfully.

I am sorry Henrik about the issues which you are facing. These need some investigation. In the meantime, please install Acrobat XI from:

Looks as if I am having this problem as well.  Between my desktop and laptop, my desktop installed without problems (Windows 7 64) but the Laptop (Windows 8.1 64) Is giving me all of the same problems mentioned above.

Hi tdatx

On the laptop, are you able to first uninstall the current Adobe Acrobat Pro?

If so, then could you then try to install Adobe Acrobat DC?

If not (my case), could you try the Microsoft tool mentioned above to complete the uninstall of Adobe Acrobat Pro, and then once successful, try to install Adobe Acrobat DC? That turned out to be what I had to do.

Update: I tried to go ahead an install DC instead of XI first just to see what would happen from the link given above.  It did not work, but thankfully it actually gave me an error code which was different than the 1603 reported before (and in the original post).

"Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action InstallWebResources, location c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat\AcrpCEF\AcroServicesUpdater.exe, command:"

There was no command after that.

The installation looked complete at that time, then it rolled the whole thing back.

When I initially had this problem through CC it did not fully uninstall XI and I did it manually but that didn't fix anything.

Yes I used the MS tool and actually uninstalled any other adobe products mentioned in the tool to make sure but to no avail.

tdatx,

Here are some steps worth trying.Looks like your Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime installation is corrupt.

I found that following steps work if you're getting error:

"Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action InstallWebResources, location c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat\AcrpCEF\AcroServicesUpdater.exe"

Try following steps and it should work:

1) Goto Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download... and click Download.

2) Select vcredist_x86.exe and download the package.

3) If you're on a 64 bit machine navigate to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" else navigate to "C:\Windows\System32" on 32 bit machines. If "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder exists then you're on a 64 bit machine.

4) Search for msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll and rename both files. Don't delete them so that just in case vcredist_x86.exe package fails to install you can rename them back.

5) Now double click vcredist_x86.exe and install it. After installation completes check that msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll are now installed back. You can delete the files that you renamed in step above now. Don't delete msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll

6) Install Acrobat through CC Installer and it should install now without complain.

I attempted fixing Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime as stated above but still to no avail.  I've been running on XI this whole time instead.  Upon trying again, I got this error:

Exit Code: 7

Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR:

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------

- 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)

----------- Payload: Adobe Acrobat DC 15.7.20033.0 Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe_15.007.20033 -----------

ERROR: Third party payload installer Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code: 3010

Again all of these other steps on here I have tried.  I'm hoping with the updated CC application it at least was able to give me this error info.

OK kashifMohd,

I tried something else that was just slightly different than what you mentioned and finally CC installed Acrobat DC.  Its not really different, just a clarification:

Instead of just rename or deleting the files, when I hit the MVSR downloaded file, I hit "uninstall" instead of "repair" (it never gave me the option to just install).  Then I simply reinstalled it.

I retried via CC and the program installed.

Thanks!

@ 29. kashMohd

Perfect solution for Acrobat READER DC on Win 8.1x64 !

I was getting the error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action InstallWebResources, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroCEF\RdrServicesUpdater.exe, command: 15.010.20056"

Reinstalling Visual C++ opened the way to installing AR DC.

Thanks a lot!

Hello guys.

I was getting the same error for the last five to six days. Anyways I got tired of retrying. I finally deleted the whole Acrobat from my Mac. Uninstalled from iClouds. Reinstalled and everything is up to date.

Try that method.

Forget calling Adobe, it's waste of time.

ayanm91170615You can't get this error as you're on Mac. The below error can only come on Windows:

I get same error message (licence mgr). I have win 7 - 64bit Laptop

I deinstalled adobe XI trial before, which worked great during test period,

cleaned registry and folders manually and used MS tool from above.

Still same error message "Installation des Lizenzmodul fehlgeschlagen"

Both reinstalling the C++ Redistributable and having the Microsoft tool work on Acrobat XI Pro's install worked for me to get Acrobat Pro DC to install finally.

I had the same error. Not much of an error message so I decided to download the desktop version and started the installer with admin privileges. Install crashed but at least this time I got a specific file error message ( error 1321 about insufficient privileges to modify the file example.ps) in

c:/ProgramData/Adobe/AdobePDF/Distiller/Startup

I deleted the file and Acrobat DC installed fine.

MAIS RECENTE

This is how I solved this issue. I'm not sure what was the exact reason, so I did everything I can (so some of below may be redundant).

0. set printer spooler as 'manual' and log-out and log-in Adobe account at Adobe CC app.

1. download and install Acrobat DC Reader

2. at the same webpage of #1, you can download setup file (exe) for Acrobat DC (for 7 days trial).

3. run #2 as administrator.

4. then back to CC and re-install Acrobat DC. Then I saw 'success' finally.

I hope this helps for everyone who suffers the same issue.
