Adobe Acrobat DC Version 15.006.30096 Fails Update

New Here ,
Jan 03, 2018 Jan 03, 2018

I have Adobe Acrobat DC Version 15.006.30096.  I've reinstalled it because it would not update.  I go to update, update indicates that there is an update available, I select download and install, I confirm User Account Control, yes, then the next dialog box is Update Failed, and then you are forced to close.  How do I fix this?  I've already reinstalled the product.  Can I manually update to fix the issue?  If so, what is the URL to the Adobe Acrobat Update Page?

I would suggest to download and install Acrobat2015Upd1500630394.msp patch from

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/Acrobat2015/1500630394/

If you still have an issue,

  • Please enable Updater and Windows Installer verbose logging, use Updater to try to update again, collect log files described below and send me a message that you have them. I will let you know where to send them.
    1. Enable Updater verbose logging-
Set iLogLevel REG_DWORD value to 1 in the registry below
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM on 64 bit OS
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM on 32 bit OS
    Log file is called AdobeARM.log
    2. Enable Windows Installer verbose logging-
The log file to collect post installation can be found in the same Temp folder where you find AdobeARM.log
It will be the latest file with the name MSIxxxxx.log

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and Standard (Continuous Track) update - All languages Version 2018.009.2044.  When I tried to run the update I got the following error message:

"The upgrade Patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program upgraded may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct patch".

The packaging on the program indicates that I have the 2015 release of Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.

So now what?  I'm just trying to have a current version of the program to insure that I have the latest security updates to the application.

Ok.  I downloaded the file acrobatdcupd1502320053 and tried to apply the update and got the same error message.  I have Acrobat DC 2015.006.30096.  So I did a repair install, and tried again, same error message as the January 4, 2018 at 6:10pm post.

Any other ideas?... It is disappointing that this particular version has the auto update bug, and cannot be manually upgraded as well.

Ok.  Your recommended solution worked.  The final fix was to download from the URL Link provided, the file Acrobat2015Upd1500630394.msp.  That update/patch actually applied without any errors.  I noticed that the patch references the word "Classic", which I suppose differentiates it from the continuous update.

Thank You LeoAdobeX.  I've tried many things, and have spent allot of time on this, including uninstalling, reinstalling, and downloading various recommended update files, etc.  The Auto-updater always failed with Version 15.006301.  Now I am on version 2015.006.30394.  When I do the auto-update routine, it states that there are no new updates.  So I should have the latest security fixes for this version of Adobe Acrobat Standard DC, Classic.

Your key problem is that the permanent license and subscription are different products entirely. With a subscription you could come up to date with 2018 versions, but a permanent license for the 2015 version only applies to that version (unless you pay). Further, the permanent license ("classic") and subscription ("continuous") versions have different updates. So you were trying to use continuous updates rather than classic updates. Unfortunately, Version 2015.023.20053  is continuous and not applicable to you.

That's the exact file version I needed to update my version of Acrobat. Much appreciated
