Hi there,

I hope you are doing well. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing.

To help resolve the problem, could you please confirm if this issue is with a specific PDF file or with the Acrobat application itself? Try opening a different PDF file to see if the problem persists. If the file is stored on a shared network or drive, download it locally to your computer and try again.

Could you describe the workflow or steps you are following when the issue occurs? A small video recording of the process would be very helpful for better understanding.

Please provide the version of the Acrobat Pro you are using. To check the Acrobat version, go to Help > About Acrobat. Ensure you have the latest version, 24.02.20933, installed. You can update by going to Help > Check for Updates and then rebooting your computer.

You might also try creating a new test user profile with full admin rights or enabling the root account on a Mac (https://adobe.ly/46agah4) to see if the issue persists in a different user environment.

If the problem continues, please uninstall the application using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool (https://adobe.ly/46bXMEs), reboot your computer, and reinstall the application using this direct link: (https://adobe.ly/3Lxwbny).

Should the issue still occur, please collect the crash/freeze logs (https://adobe.ly/3LuqfM9) and share them via any cloud storage service. Upload the log file to the cloud, generate a shareable link, and provide that link for further investigation.

Regards,

Amal

Did you ever find a solution here? I have been having this problem for a few weeks and it has become unbearable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled adobe twice. I am using version 24.002.20983 and mac OS Sonoma v. 14.5. It happens with every document and I need to have a lot of documents open at once.

I have done absolutely everything I can think of and am going out of my mind. There must be tens of thousands of crash reports in the past few months from similar users and its time for Adobe to admit to there being a problem. After trying disabling new GUI and turning off certain security checks on startups I tried full delete and reinstall. And I made sure to trash the plist preferences file. This is absolutely an insane situation. The only think I can say is that it doesn't appear to be a problem if I have one and only one document open. It does happen 2-20 times a day though when I have multiple PDFs open. This is insane.

Me too! And you're right it when I have more than one Document open.
i also change the view to continuous scrolling. The jumping a pg when I am trying to read the detail at the bottom is annoying.
I don't knwo what the AI is for, it just irritating and jumps up in the middle of my screen when I am trying to read!

Hi @Vonna38525662mh31,

Sorry for your experience with Acrobat!

Would you mind trying a few steps mentioned below:

1. Go to Acrobat-> Preferences-> Page Display;

2. Uncheck the check boxes "Use Page cache" and "Smooth Image;"-> Click "OK"

3. Restart Acrobat.

If this does not work, try resetting the application's preferences and check again.

Steps can be found here: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

If neither of the steps works, please use this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html to collect crash logs and share the unique ID of the log.

Thanks,

Souvik
