Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Continuous release, version 2021.007.20099 - no check for updates option. However,

Norton notifies me that there is a new update and it is "critical"

If "Check for updates" is missing from the menu, most likely reason is that updates are disabled by a policy set in Registry either post install or with customized install. The registry value name is bUpdater, set per product. Even if you delete it from Registry, it will be restored with next update\repair if it was set by customized install. Please search this forum for more on bUpdater.
