Adobe Acrobat XI pro will not print multiple files on new windows 10 desktop?

I upgrade from Windows 7 to windows 10 and reinstalled Adobe acrobat XI Pro. In the fall I was able to print 150 report cards by dragging the pdf files into the copier que and they would print flawlessly.  However in the spring on the windows 10 Machine if I try to print multiple files it will only print the first 2 files out of the list.

It may well be that you passed over the usability life spawn of Acrobat XI. Windows 10 implemented some changes and Acrobat XI is no more updated.

You could try installing Acrobat Reader DC and printing. If that works, it is for sure the aged XI getting in trouble.

You indicate that you are printing “by dragging the pdf files into the copier queue.”

I assume you are doing that in Windows Explorer. There is no “copier queue” in Acrobat. If this is a printer-specific utility (i.e., the “copier queue”), then this doesn't involve anything associated with Acrobat or Adobe at all. Your “copier” apparently is directly printing the PDF files.

What are we (or you) missing here? Seems like an issue related to interoperability of Windows 10 and your printer's utility software (i.e., the “copier queue”).

the best answer I have received is the following....

bulk printing via Windows:

  1. To print all of the files in a folder, open that folder in Windows Explorer (File Explorer in Windows 8), press CTRL-a to select all of them, right-click any of the selected files, and select Print.
  2. Try opening up the printer from the Devices and Printers option on the Start menu (or search for your printer by name). Drag the relevant files onto the printer window, and you'll see a dialog box asking if you want to print multiple files. Click 'Yes' and they'll all be opened and printed in their entirety, with the default settings.

if you have windows 10 and want to print more than 15 documents at a time.... you will need to follow the following steps first.... to change the registry.

There is a limitation in Windows that prevents users from printing more than 15 files at a time. Good news is that there is a workaround, but the bad news is that it's a little complicated in that it requires edits to the computer's registry.

Below are the instructions (you need administrator access to the computer your working with):

  1. 1. Get to the "Run" menu. (Go to the start menu, and type Run and click enter, or hit Windows Key + R to display the same dialog)
  2. 2. Type Regedit.exe and click OK
  3. 3. Navigate to the following area
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

    4. In the right side pane, Right Clickand select New/ DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  4. 5. Name the Value  MultipleInvokePromptMinimum (Case sensitive).
  5. 6. Right click the new Value and select Modify.
  6. 7. In the Base section, select Decimal.
  7. 8. In the Value Data box, type the number  16  and Click OK (The number 16 will make the selection of files Unlimited).

Press the F5 key to refresh and exit the registry editor.

Can we assume this resolves your issue? And in fact, this isn't a “copier queue” but rather the shortcut to Acrobat's print function that you are accessing?
