Adobe Comments Checked / Unchecked filter no longer available

New Here ,
Aug 19, 2024 Aug 19, 2024

Acrobat Version 2024.002.1005 no longer has the option to filter comments by 'Checked' or 'Unchecked'. Having this option makes completing amends so much easier as the amend is removed from the list once completed. Having them all to view, even the ones which have been ticked is annoying and doesnt help work flow. Is this filter going to be reinsated as its a step back and doesnt improve the app in anyway, being able to filter comments by colour or person isnt that useful but having the option to fully filter whichever way you want should be!

Hi @avbluecube,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience!

Would you mind sharing a screen recording video of what you are referring to for a better understanding and assistance?

This would help me take this up with the team for review and future implementations.

Here is an image to show you what i mean. Previously the option to filter comments by 'Checked or Unchecked' was an option (left image), but now its gone (right image).

Is there a solution for this problem yet? I've had the checked/unchecked filter option appear on one PDF and then not on another PDF. When there are 200+ comments to work through, the option to filter them out as done has to be there.

@CiaranDowneyOH @avbluecube In the scenarios where you do not see the option, are any comments already checked?

If not, you will not see the option to filter by the criteria.

RSA.pngLAPR.pngHi,

Yes, some comments are already checked, but even when I unchecked the first one, I didn't get the option.

Attached are two screenshots of two different PDFs I've been taking amends from. One shows them, the other clearly doesn't.

It really does make going through the changes considerably more time-consuming and cluttered.

A solution would be welcome.

Thank you.

@CiaranDowneyOH Thanks for this.

A few more details, please:

1. App version number (go to Help-> About Acrobat Pro DC);

2. The OS version;

3. If you can check with the New UI. Go to View -> Enable New Acrobat.

v2024.002.21005

Sonoma 14.6.1

I'd switched off the new UI because I thought it might have been at the root of the problems, but the problem was happening under it.

I'm running v2024.002.21005 on Ventura 13.3.7 but the issue still happens on the new UI too.

However...

I initially i thought this was an issue for all my pdf’s but having opened other files which also contain comments the issue seems to be random. For example I just opened a pdf file from 2021 containing client comments and it had the ‘Checked or Unchecked’ option, however opening a file that I originally created last week which was then sent to a client for amends doesn’t have the ‘Checked or Unchecked option? and when i then try to add comments to this file the option still doesnt appear, but if i add comments to a new pdf I created this week the option appears but so perhaps its down to which version of Acrobat our clients are using perhaps?

@avbluecube @CiaranDowneyOH We are unable to reproduce the issue at our end.

Would you mind sharing a sample PDF where the filter does show and one where it doesn't?

Nope, opened up the pdf i had issues with before the update and I still don't see the  'Checked' or 'Unchecked' filter! Issue seems to be random tho as other pdf files I have with client comments on do have the filter and others don't. So wonder if its down to the version of Acorbat my clients are using?

Sorry, the latest update has done nothing to sort this issue out as it's still there in the problem PDF. Maybe it's down to the version of Acrobat used or it coming cross-platform, but I don't believe I've seen it before and, thankfully, it hasn't reoccured since.

Hi, just seen this thread.

I'm having the same issue and have updated to 2024.003.20180. Sorry to say I'm still not seeing the checked/unchecked filters. Has been a problem for me for a while now. It's not happening on every pdf I create and send to clients and they have sent back. It seems quite random?

No ive updated to (2024.003.20180) and its still happening. As Crag Long 66 says It's not happening on every pdf I create and send to clients which they have sent back. It seems quite random? I still think it has something to do with the versions of Acorbat the clients are using and are maybe not compatable with the new versions we are using?
