Adobe pdf printer gone

When I came to work on Friday and tried to print to Adobe pdf printer, the printer was gone. I had to repair the installation of Adobe (version 2024.001.20604 64 bit) and it came back.

This morning it was the same thing. 

What is happening? For about a month now I have had the problem with pdf-files opening automatically after I print them. I have to remove the X in the box in the printer settings. This re-sets with every restart. Now I have to repair every morning too.

I know it is not a great solution, but i made the Adobe PDF printer my Default printer over a month ago to see if it would stop vanishing, and so far so good.  Luckily I print more PDF documents than I do paper Documents so it hasn't been too much of a pain to get used to.  Like I said not a solution but it can get you by so it is less frustrating until they get it fixed.

This has happened to me twice. The first time I uninstalled and resintalled Tech Com Suite with Acrobat and FrameMaker. Today I found a reference in Adobe Community to a KB article. I followed those steps and it was a lot less painful to fix. Hopeully it will be permanent. This has been happening for month for a client of ours.  Even disabled the auto update in Task Scheduler and it still somehow deletes the "Adobe PDF" driver.  Client is getting frustrated and only crickets from Adobe...thnx

adding a comment so this gets fixed. I have auto updates on and I fixed the issue on Thursday. I was out Friday and came back to the office to PDF printer missing again on Monday. My whole jobe revolves around printing to PDF. I need this fixed by adobe asap.

Adobe doesn't seem to care, and it is extremely frustrating.

I switched from Pro to Standard, hoping the change in program would make it stop and it still does it.

Never had this problem when I was on a perpetual license for years.  It seems that having the printer is pretty core functionality for a subscription product.  Very frustrating.

Same here for a couple of months now. Repair doesn't bring the printer back. I know because I try repair before reinstalling. 

This has become a half hour delay daily for most of my co-workers.
