Adobe PDF / Scroll bars still missing

I've looked at all the posts and their answers. It's very frustrating. I've done all the suggestions. Still no scrollbar. If I adjust the page size manually -- pull it in or out -- the bars appear for a few seconds then disappear. I can't grab them.

I cannot scroll up/down or side to side. Mac Ventura. Acrobat Pro version 2023.006.20320

Any other ideas or will there be an update to fix?

Finaly fixed in the latest February update!

There is a new Preference under Page Display: Always show Scroll bars!

And also set the preference to Enable scrolling under Page Display, Page Layout, and the we are finally(!) good to go!

Thanks for the work you did with this.

The thing is, when I view a document like your 2-page doc, I don't have the scroll bar. But I guess this is because you have continuous scrolling enabled, and not single page view.

It is still not working for me.  I have the latest version installed, but I still don't have the option to click "always show scrollbars" in the preferences.  Any advice?

In my case, the option to always show scrollbars appeared, but it changed nothing when I activated it.

So it seems that 5 months after the start of this thread, Adobe still isn't able to provide a working fix for an essential basic feature like scroll bars, which every other program has.

Read back please:

Only when in Single page view there are still no scroll bars...

For the rest it works fine.

Are you saying that in "Two-page View", there ARE grabbable up and down scrollbars in the latest update...? (Note: Do you also mean in the two "Scrolling" options.) Just to be clear...

This is not fixed. I'm using the latest version, I have show scroll bars on in preferences and still nothing! See screen shot. Zoomed in, NO Scroll bars.

This seems to depend on the OS version you are using. For me the update didn't work as well and I was on the phone with adobe and when I told them my macOS-version they told me to use the fix where you edit the plist (which contains a mistake on the adobe-website, by the way) and when I found out how to do that I had scrollbars in continuous view and when I zoom in, but still not in single page view.

Ah, ok.

I am not sure why, but it is still not working for me!  It says I have the latest version installed, but my preferences still don't have the option to click "always show scrollbar" the way the screenshot above does.  Any advice??

Hello, My Mac updated to adobe acrobat pro Version 2023.008.20555. So when I try to use crop tool, the cropping margins can't show on my artwork, they only show only on the preview part, so it make difficult for me to work proper.

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that.

Please go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Units and Guides, Select 'Show ruler when opening documents' > Click OK and reboot the application. Also turn on the grid by (Ctrl,Cmd+U) and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

I cannot find the Preferences/Page display/Show scroll bars option. I assume I must have the latest version (2023.008.20470) as no update is available. Under the View/Page Display I turned Enable Scrolling off – and the scroll bar appeared. Something needs fixing.

Attaching screenshot:

Acrobat > Preferences > Page Display > Page content and information > Always show scroll bars

Acrobat.jpg

Once the pdf file is opened (and annoyingly everytime you open a file):

View > Page Display > Enable Scrolling

This combo of commands is working consistently (for me anyway)

p.s. the latest Adobe version is 2023.008.20555

Your version: 2023.008.20470 is not the latest version
