Adobe PDF / Scroll bars still missing

Explorer ,
Sep 19, 2023 Sep 19, 2023

I've looked at all the posts and their answers. It's very frustrating. I've done all the suggestions. Still no scrollbar. If I adjust the page size manually -- pull it in or out -- the bars appear for a few seconds then disappear. I can't grab them.

I cannot scroll up/down or side to side. Mac Ventura. Acrobat Pro version 2023.006.20320

Any other ideas or will there be an update to fix?

Finaly fixed in the latest February update!

There is a new Preference under Page Display: Always show Scroll bars!

And also set the preference to Enable scrolling under Page Display, Page Layout, and the we are finally(!) good to go!

Thanks for the work you did with this.

The thing is, when I view a document like your 2-page doc, I don't have the scroll bar. But I guess this is because you have continuous scrolling enabled, and not single page view.

Hmm, I don't see an option to set Enable Scrolling. I've used Acrobat for as long as it's been around and have never felt more frustrated.

This is how the page display looks on my mac. It's below where your screen shot ends.

The new setting only works on my Mac if I also tick the box under "Display" - "Page display" - "Activate scrolling". See screenshot.

This "up to date" message doesn't necessarily mean that it really is up to date, you have to look what the Acrobat version says.

Then activate them, in Os X and in Acrobat Preferences, both to show always.

Things are better in 2025.001.20577.  This has been around for years, and thanks but yes, I know of the prefs.

Thanks for the quick response, @noelephantitis

When you check the app Preferences > Page Display > Page Content and Information > "Always Show Scroll bars"

If the option is not available, please share the screenshot of the preference window. Adobe Acrobat App version.

Do you not see Preferences directly under the Acrobat main menu item? You need to give a LOT more info, a screenshot, something . . . because the scroll bar stuff that has been discussed within this thread is far different than you not seeing a Preferences pane. (Also, it's an entire window, not just a pane within a window.)

Where is the update? I just looked at Creative Cloud and don't see one listed.

Acrobat updates never show in CC app, check from within Acrobat itself. Or go the the website for Acrobat updates.

Well, this is ironic. I just went to Adobe.com to look for the update, and the scroll bar is unresponsive!
