you can expect some (or a lot) of issues installing and trying to get acrobat 8 working with sierra, but
Downloadable installation files available:
Download and installation help for Adobe links
Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages. They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3. If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

I would also agree and not recommend Acrobat 8 and sierra if that is what you are trying to do.

Thank you. It's just that I have very limited needs and my old adobe8 has served me well! It seems to be very expensive to upgrade so I was trying to see if I could make that work first

Thanks but when I click on that link, it says that its not available for mac!

then there's no acrobat 8 pro trial available for mac.
there's no legal work-around unless have the installation files and/or a link to the fully license program.

Are you talking about Acrobat 8 Professional?
What is your website link?

He is right.
Acrobat 9 was the first version that was offered for the MAC OS as a downloadable version.

Ok I am confused, I have it on my old mac (2013 mac) and it says it's an 8 professional. It was a CD I purchased (that came with my scan snap scanner) that I can't find (and the new mac doesnt have a CD drive)but I have my license number. I appreciate all the responses though

why the confusion?
you need your cd to install that program. it was never downloadable and still is not downloadable. in addition, adobe no longer will replace that disc.

ok I appreciate all the feedback. took me a day but I found the disc, found an external drive, a dungle, the activation code, made it through downloading but you were all right, its not opening on mac sierra. I am looking at my purchasing upgrade options and I really only need this to be able to extract pages, is there a cheaper version than the 449 DC pro that will do that? thanks for your help

If you only need to extract pages you can do that with Preview.

- Your version is too old to qualify for an upgrade.
- If you want to use Adobe software to do it, Acrobat Pro is your only option. You can subscribe to it on a monthly/yearly basis, though, instead of purchasing a perpetual license.

if you just want to extract files you should check google chrome browser. i think it has a print pdf option that allow you to select pages to print.
