Adobe Reader Install and Operating problems

Can anyone help. My Adobe Reader updated recently and despite seemingly installing OK whenever I open a .pdf it opens but then buffers/stalls. Got fed up so tried to reinstall but installation gets stuck at 90% everytime. Being left without a Adobe .pdf reader so uninstalled it and installed Version xi from another source ! Dark ages.. It had worked fine til latest update encountered seemingly insurmountable problems. Advice on possible solutions welcome please?

If you are still experiencing this issue, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://adobe.ly/3J6mOu4, reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link: https://adobe.ly/3J8hCG6 and see if that works.
