Adobe Reader isn't installing on windows 7

Hello community! This is my first time posting here so I don't really know too much about posting, but I need some help. I was trying to install Acrobat Reader on my Windows 7 laptop and when I ran the installer it said it was successful, however it didn't create any shortcuts on my desktop, nor my Start menu. I tried checking in program files for an Adobe folder but there was nothing. I even checked the program files x86 folder but there was no adobe folder there either. The installer never said there was an issue and since running that the laptop has gotten slower. The laptop I have is a Dell Latitude E6440 (and for anybody asking, no this is not my main computer). Please help! 

And in case anyone thinks I downloaded a fake installer, I went to the official Adobe.com website to download it.

As per the tech specs for Reader's latest version, Win 7 is a supported OS, and it should work fine on your machine. 

Here are the tech specs details: https://adobe.ly/3UJ9ZM7. Please validate if the machine has Windows 7 with (SP - service pack)-1. 

  • Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit and 64-bit)

Restart your machine once. Then, use this link again: https://adobe.ly/3JwZqcy, try installing Reader, and let us know how it works. If possible, please share a video of the workflow.

Hi Tariq,

I checked the computer and it did say SP1. I don't know if this matters but it is running Windows 7 Pro and not home or anything like that. At least it isn't as slow anymore (don't wanna jinx myself there) so at least that is fixed. I deleted the original installer file so I'll have to download it again from the link you gave me. It is also a 64 bit system. It seems the link you gave me downloaded a different installer file which actually ended up working. I don't live in the UK so I also had to modify the link you gave me a bit (because it said UK).
