We have a computer where we periodically get the following error message:

The parameter is incorrect.

a browser with an acrobat (or reader) plugin is trying to update.

I am not sure what that means.

1. Are you saying that Adobe Acrobat Professional DC is trying to update?  Yes or No?

How do we fix the problem?

yes.  disable auto-update.

We have disabled the Updater in Preferences.  We are still receiving the error message.

check your control panel to see if you have other acrobat versions installed.  you should also check the browser plugins for any reader versions installed for all browsers open when you see the error message.
