attaching pdf as attachment

I am on Mac02 Mojave.  10.14.

I get error message "an error occurred while trying to create a mail document."

This is a new problem...haven't had it before..used to work great on my MacBook air.

Hi Danb,

Looking at the details given above, it seems that you have been getting this error message "an error occurred while trying to create a mail document." while sending pdf as attachment via Email within the Acrobat DC itself?

You must try the following troubleshooting steps and see if that helps.-

1- Reboot the machine if you haven't already and try again.

2- If that doesn't work, check if Acrobat is updated to the latest patch- click "check for updates" under Help menu. Install the update, reboot the machine and try again.

3- If step 2 doesn't work, perform troubleshooting steps given in here: Attach to email option is not working | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC

You may also try the steps suggested in this link by Barbara Adams- Error when using Outlook as default mail application in Acrobat DC (Sign and Send PDFs)

Also, could you share Acrobat DC version installed on the machine: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

thank you for the response.

The suggestions below are the SAME that I have received from Anansri. Unfortunately…they do not solve my issue with attaching a PDF on Acobe Acrobat DC. I am NOT using OUTLOOK…I am using Mac Mail on a MacBook air.

I get the same error message “an error occurred while trying to create a mail document.”

Any other suggestions? for some reason…I think Adobe is having a problem when it tries to access my mail account. Do I have to give Adobe permission perhaps??

Hey Dan,

Sorry for the late response to your last message and thanks for sharing the further information.

Would that be possible for you to share the screenshot of the message that appears on your screen? https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot 

Also, you may check the Acrobat's preferences Edit>Preferences>Email Account and check whether your mail account is configured as default or not.
