Hi, I am new to using Adobe Acrobat, but here goes; I am in the process of creating a pdf form for online use and we are trying to make it as user friendly as possible. For one section there is approx 15 questions. Is it possible to create a field which pre-populates based on the answers from these 15 questions is met. The final field will just have 2 possible outcomes - 1) All criteria met. Progress to next stage and 2) More information required. Cannot progress. If possible, could the latter be set as default and then change if all relevant criteria is met.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Paul.

The answer is yes, but PDF forms are most effective when used offline.
Unlike HTML forms.

Hi JR,
Thanks for getting back so quickly. Maybe my description was wrong. When I say online pdf, what I mean is the form will be available online for contractors to download and complete locally. Once filled out this will then be emailed back again with all required fields filled out. As I say this is all new to me. I have still to work out how to make certain fields mandatory as well as creating a check box at the end so the file cannot be returned unless all required fields are completed. Bit of work in it for me yet.
Regards
Paul

I agree with @JR Boulay ( bonjour JR 😉 ), and I would add that if your perspective is to distribute this PDF to be used online, what are the reasons for choosing the PDF ? (reasons that can be justified)
Think that nowadays many people use smartphones, and that the use of a web form will be more ergonomic with the flexibility brought by the web display modes compared to the PDF viewer

Hi Birnou,
To cut a long story short.....I have been given a college project from my work regarding how we recieve installation information on LCT's. It was there recommendation that I use pdf format. Currently, this information comes in through hand written forms, which has led to missing or unreadable information. Another factor is the software which our company uses...they are slighly behind the times! There is a plan being undertaken at present to implement a full web based platform, so this is a stop gap until that is in place.
Cheers

"I mean is the form will be available online for contractors to download and complete locally. Once filled out this will then be emailed back again with all required fields filled out."
So this is OK for a PDF form.
