Please try the steps below and see if that works:
1. Open the Outlook > Click on Acrobat ribbon on the menu bar
2. Click on 'Setup Automatic Archival' and Uncheck 'Embed index for faster search' > Click OK

I use the Acrobat DC pdf maker plug-in in Outlook to create a pdf file of an e-mail, and then to append relevant e-mails to that pdf file. When there are many (I believe the threshold is around 15 or 20) individual e-mails appended the pdf maker plug-in automatically "creates an index for faster searching". This index process is PAINFULLY slow and, in my use of the product, unnecessary. Problem is - I can't locate a setting to disable the process, or at least increase the threshold before it kicks in.

Thanks for the reply - it worked with one minor change. The box to uncheck is under the settings tab (unchecked the "Embed index for faster search" box), not the automatic archival tab (that one was already unchecked). Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Hi Michael,
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you want to locate the setting to disable the autocreation of index.
Please try the steps below and see if that works:
1. Open the Outlook > Click on Acrobat ribbon on the menu bar
2. Click on 'Setup Automatic Archival' and Uncheck 'Embed index for faster search' > Click OK

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this clarification. This was driving me nuts. Good karma on you, sir.
