I have Word Perfect 8 on Windows 10. I have something like 7000 Word Perfect files on my computer in probably hundreds of folders. In a fantasy world, with a click of a mouse, I would like to convert every Word Perfect document to a PDF document, that would be placed next to every Word Perfect document in every folder.
Closer to real life, I would like to be able to, say, open a folder with 70 documents, 50 of which are Word Perfect documents, highlight the 50 documents, have them converted to PDF files (that can later be altered), and save those 50 PDF documents in the same folder. Is this expecting too much?
At present, I could individually open each wpd file, choose "Publish to PDF",and convert that individual wpd file to PDF with the included Adobe Acrobat DC software. Also included on my computer is "Foxit Phantom" converter, but nothing about this software works, not even on individual documents. It just says that it crashed, asks to send a report, promises to respond to me, and never does.

Hi there! Maybe try out the solution called Total PDF Converter. I always convert my PDFs with its help. I guess it might suit your needs too. Check it out

You may want to try some experiments with Acrobat Distiller's Watched Folder feature (under Distiller's Settings menu item). It may do just what you need. I do not have Word Perfect, so I can not run any tests on my end. Not sure if Word Perfect's file format is directly supported by Distiller. Let us know if you are able to get the feature to work for you.
My best,
Dave

Distiller converts only PostScript to PDF.
