We had an issue using Word/Excel merge to PDF. I contacted Adobe for assistance, and their representative logged into our computer to attempt to fix the issue. While logged in, he accessed the drive where we had stored all of the previously created PDF documents (several hundred), highlighted everything, and then deleted the documents. When asked to please "retrieve" them, he went to my local workstation recycle bin and recycled everything to my local desktop. I have been calling and emailing for almost a month, and Adobe just ignores me. They refuse to compensate us for the hours it took to recreate all of the deleted documents. DON'T ALLOW ADOBE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!!

This is concerning. Can you let us know how you originally got in touch with Adobe? And what phone number you have for them? And what email address?

Yes - very concerning. I have been waiting almost a month for Adobe to address the issue. The number I called was from their website: 1.800.443.8158 (to a supervisor who I allowed to log in again and confirm that multiple documents were no longer available when you went to the "recent" files.). The original issue was with an online Chat, where - after attempting multiple troubleshooting steps - he asked if he could remote in. Believing that I could trust Adobe, I agreed. After he deleted the files, I asked him if he was going to restore them (they were on a server drive, and not restorable). His response was, "you can try." That's when I called the number above. The email I sent was directly to one of the people I've spoken to in customer support. I sent one long email outlining everything that happened, and asking what it was going to take to get a response from them about how they were going to make it right.
The documents deleted had been created using the "merge to pdf" add-on in word. Some of them we were able to recover from our back-ups. However, backups are done at 10:00 pm at night, and several hundred of the documents were created after the backup had been done. We had to spend hours re-creating all of the deleted documents.
In case you can't tell - I'm feeling very frustrated at the fact that, in addition to the time spent correcting their error, I've also spent much time on phone calls and emails attempting to get it resolved. Today -- I took to the forums and Facebook to air my grievance.

Thank you. The reason I asked is that there are lot of people out there PRETENDING to be Adobe. In this case you would need to be alert as they could have done even worse. This number is, however, the real deal. I don't work for Adobe, so I can't offer any more help now we know it really is them.
