Hello,

Using Windows platform. I seem to have a hidden blue signature box occuring when I prepare a form under the text box. No signatures are requested when creating this form. No security on the form. It is only visible in the saved PDF when I try to fill out the text in the text box. It asks for a signature and it will not allow any text. It has a small black signature box when I try to type. I have deleted the file, re-opened and still shows on new document. I have read articles that say to click on the box holding the control key, however, you cannot visually see it in prepare for or edit document.  Started happening today for some reason.

Hi cjones123,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue.

Please check and let us know if the issue occurs with all the PDFs. Did you start experiencing this behavior after the recent update?

It would be helpful if you could share the PDF form with the issue and the screen recording of the steps you take to fill out the form. Also, share the Acrobat and OS versions currently in use.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenaski,

I have the most current version of Acobrat Pro. It seems to work when I click the fill and sign button before I start typing into the text fields.

I'm having the exact same issue as well. To my knowledge there have been no updates and I'm doing nothing different. It started today out of the blue, when yesterday it worked fine. I hope you find a fix as soon as possible becuase I have very important financial reporting that is due before this Friday!

Same issue! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Pro, re-creating forms from scratch, and still having the problem. Doesn't matter where the form came from--happening with everything. Fields are not locked or read only. This is what the screen look slike when I select the field and attempt to type in it. Screenshot 2024-04-23 083452.jpg

I am having the exact same issue. It started yesterday all of a sudden, not directly after any Acrobat update. I cannot type any text into my fillable forms. I have created new forms from scratch, updated Acrobat, repaired Acrobat, and nothing. When I go to type into my fillable form, there is a blue box that only allows for me to add a signature, no text is allowed.

I've had the exact same issue. I only have a temporary work around. I click on the e-signature button then cancel out. It let's me type in the form afterwards but I have to do this every time I open a new document.

Thanks for sharing this--that's a lot of work for a form with a lot of fields. And unfortunately this does not work for me 😞

Hi All,

Thank you for your patience so far.

The issue has been resolved. Please reboot the machine and then relaunch Acrobat.

Then, wait for some time and try to fill out the forms again.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
