Blurry PDF and Font Size Issue

New Here ,
Mar 23, 2018 Mar 23, 2018

I have created a document in google. I have some headers that are 14px and some text that is 11px. When I export as a PDF and open in Acrobat Pro DC the font sizes are 13.99px and 10.99px. The letter-spacing and line-height are also floating numbers.

When I clicked Send for Signature the file in Adobe Sign was blurry.

....

I have updated the fonts to be 14px and 11px. When I click Send for Signature the PDF is still blurry.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

I downloaded your PDF file. Nothing is wrong with the file. The fonts are properly embedded.

I tried sending it with Adobe Sign and no issues with the document in Adobe Sign either on Windows or MacOS-based browsers.

The fact that you are having issues even viewing this website on your computer would be indicative of something not being kosher with your computer system, its display, or the browser you are using.

It definitely is not a PDF issue.

Fonts are specified in terms of point size (pt) as opposed to pixels (px). Hopefully you really meant points as opposed to pixels since pixels are device dependent and points are not.

Maybe if you can post a sample, we could analyze what the real issue is?!?

I was assuming it was px but it is probably pt if that is the standard.

I'm not sure how to upload pdfs but here is a link:

It appears that the document online, prepared for signing, is actually a png and not a pdf.

Here is a link to the original document: Test - Google Docs

I downloaded this from Google Docs ( File -> Download As -> PDF Document), opened the PDF in Acrobat Pro DC, added signature fields and "sent for signatures".

It also appears that several items on this site are blurry. Such as my level1-badge and your staff-badge as well as the avatars and some other icons throughout the site. Could this be related? I am on a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.13.3

Hello,

A question for Dov Isaacs : I am finding that using the Adobe pdf  printer option to make pdf files from autocad dwg files that the fonts and the drawing itself appears hazy or lighter  as if there was a less contrast than in the original.  Can you reccomend the best settings to select  on the options available in Adobe DC to remedy this?

It is virtually impossible to diagnose what's going on here, whether it is the content itself, the application generating the PostScript being used to create the PDF, or viewing settings in Acrobat.

If you are using AutoCAD, we have a direct Acrobat PDFMaker feature that integrates into AutoCAD which should be used in lieu of “printing to PDF.”

Also be aware that some CAD software generates 0 width lines in PostScript which yields the equivalent 0 width line in PDF. Such 0 width lines are defined as being the thinnest possible line that can be rendered on the device, i.e. 1 pixel wide. That could be the cause of the issue.

There is a viewing option in both Acrobat and Reader to enhance thin lines, but for most other PDF files, this may yield some undesirable viewing.

But without sample files, I am only guessing as to what's really going on.
