Book scan double pages to single pages

[hello-there]

If I have a scanned book with double pages, what is the best way to turn it into a PDF with single pages (using Acrobat DC or maybe Indesign)? So that each book page is on a PDF page of the appropriate size. Some kind of automation would be quite good.
