CaC Signature on Chromebook

New Here ,
May 29, 2018 May 29, 2018

Team,

Have been looking all day and cannot find a solution that allows me to select a military CaC certificate and sign a PDF (drag/drop signature field) or a signature field on a form.  This is a must have for any DoD, and most government employees.

My Chromebook uses my CaC as designed, and I can authenticate into various CaC enabled websites such as AKO, Webmail, and Defense Travel System.

None of the Chrome Web Store extensions work, and I have installed the various Adobe signature apps in the Android Play Store.  None of them allow certificate signature.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hi C-Rain,

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are unable to sign a pdf using your CaC certificate, is that correct?

As mentioned above, you are using chromebook which uses chrome OS. Using signature apps - Adobe Reader or Fill & Sign, you can't sign pdfs using certificate signature. You may try contacting chromebook and see what they have to suggest.

Let us know if you have any further query.

Thank you Shivam.  Currently the Adobe Reader supports certificate signature on Windows and Mac computers.

When will Adobe extend the same capability to Chrome OS?

I am not sure that contacting Chromebook (Google) will help as their platform and OS already supports the use of certificates.  It seems that Adobe needs to provide the functionality as they do on other OS.

Any vendor may make an app to sign a PDF. Adobe choose not to do this on Android and don't support Chromebook directly at all.

But "who" is the question?
