Hello,
I have a "A" document with hundreds of fields. All sorts of fields. Unique or not. None is read-only or locked.
I have a "B" document, with common pages with A, some have different contents but same layout, some are totally different, some pages exist only in one of the two documents. No field in it.
I need to paste A fields to B. Some of them, from some pages.
Unfortunately, I cannot use the Replace page function, there are two many differences between both PDFs.
When I copy, let's say, a set of 10 fields (different types), on another page of the A document, no problem. They paste in place.
When I copy / paste them on the B document (or even on a blank PDF or whatever), only 1 or 2, or 3 fields are copied.
I tried to copy paste only 2 text fields with unique names. Only one is copied.
I tried to clean everything but fields with the redaction tool.
I re-saved the PDF in an Acrobat 10+ format.
There is nos protyection/security.
Thanks for any suggestion

The culprit is the PoppinsLight font.
I ran into the same problem as you with your file, since I removed this font and replaced it with Helvetica I can copy paste all fields as usual.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the delay in response.
As per your description above, some form fields from a PDF do not copy and paste on another PDF.
We did try to replicate the same behavior. We can easily copy and paste form fields from one document to another without any issues.
Would it be possible to share both the PDFs with us? We would like to check those PDFs at our end.
Also, share the Acrobat and OS version on the machine.
We will be waiting for your response.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Hello,
Attached is my file, now with only one blank page, and a few fields left.
They all are text inputs, with a unique name.
This is my "A" file: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/review?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:1f0395ca-4e5b-49f1-8b61-6b6d67774e7...
I won't attach the B file, since it can be any document, even a new, blank one.
Whatever the B file is, it won't get more than one copied field from A, this is what you should be able to reproduce, if you encounter the same problem.

Make sure there isn't a field with the same name you're trying to copy, but a different type (for example, a text field called "Name" in one file and a drop-down field with the same name in the other). That would stop the copying process dead in its tracks, unfortunately without an error message to explain what went wrong...

That's not the case: if I only let a few fields (simple text inputs, each of them having a unique name), deleting all others, they cannot be copied either

This is caused by the font, you are right.
So a workaround can be to set a standard font, to copy/paste the fields, then to set the desired font again in the target document, eventually by script.
The remaining question: is there way to do this common task, keeping the desired font, without tedious operations?
I'm pretty sure it used to work a few months ago. Is this linked to an update?

You can use a script or an action, but it's just as easy to select all the fields and change their font in 2 clicks.
